Benefit Concert

The Young Duo presents a benefit concert for the Annapolis Women’s Pregnancy Clinic. All proceeds from this event will go to benefit the clinic, which provides free medical care and counseling for expectant mothers. Admission is free, though donations are encouraged. Learn more about the clinic at http://www.pregnancyclinic.org/.

Biography

The Young Duo comprises violinist Dana Bevard and pianist Sarah Young. They met during their undergraduate degree at University of Maryland, where Bevard earned her Bachelors of Music in Violin Performance and Young earned two performance degrees, one in piano and the second in voice. From there, they went on to earn their Masters in Performance at Florida State University and Stony Brooke respectively.

Bevard and Young were brought together by their desire to perform and share music with others, their passion for performing underrepresented composers, and their belief in supporting mothers. The benefit concert supporting the Women’s Pregnancy Clinic will be their inaugural concert. In their programming, you will see works by women, people of color, and modern composers performed alongside well-loved classics. Their goal is to perform music that can be universally understood by both a modern and traditional audience. Children are always welcome and encouraged to attend.
